Lloyd’s Register has announced new appointments within its Business Development function in Piraeus, reflecting its ongoing commitment to service excellence.
We are delighted to welcome Nikos Skaribas to Piraeus as Area New Buildings Business Development and Liaison Manager. Having worked in the marine industry for more than 20 years, Nikos brings huge experience to the team. Having begun his career as a Superintendent Engineer in Greece, Nikos moved to LR and spent many years occupying key New Construction roles based in Japan and China. Since 2013, he served as the Operations Manager in Greater China and was appointed North Asia Regional Operations Manager in 2018, making him responsible for Greater China, Japan and Korea. Nikos also held the role of Bulk Carrier Segment Manager, making a significant impact for clients across the segment through his drive and expertise.
Nikos succeeds Nikolas Vaporis, who has left Lloyd’s Register to pursue new opportunities, concluding a long period of great contribution going back to 2007. We wish to take this opportunity to thank Nikolas for the drive, dedication and commitment he has demonstrated to our clients during his time at LR.
In addition, Panayiotis (Panos) Mitrou, has been appointed as the Global Gas Segment Manager, based in Piraeus. Panos’ will drive innovative thinking and pioneer technical work in the gas sector of Marine & Offshore, ensuring LR is able to deliver an enhanced service portfolio to Greek shipowners as well as the global shipping community.
Having been with LR for over 14 years, most recently working in the Piraeus business team, Panos is well-known and highly respected by the Greek gas ship-owning community and his involvement with the wider LNG infrastructure projects has allowed him to develop strong relationships with European, regional and national gas stakeholders.
