Although global hull premiums reported at the International Union of Marine Insurance (IUMI) conference this week were stable, Rama Chandran, Chair of the IUMI Ocean Hull Committee was more upbeat.

IUMI – the International Union of Marine Insurance – presented its analysis of the latest marine insurance market trends during its annual conference which this year is being held online.

North P&I Club completes integration of the Sunderland Marine Insurance Company Limited business into parent company The North of England Protecting and Indemnity Association Limited.   

Two major casualties put a dent in North P&I Club’s underwriting figures for policy year ending 20 February 2020, but the period also saw the launch of new products as part of its continuing diversification, Member retention maintained at 99% and more tonnage insured than ever before.

The new offering from North is designed for larger ocean-going vessels and will complement the H&M insurance already available from Sunderland Marine for fishing vessels and other small craft.

On 1 January 2020, Britannia P&I’s Exclusive Correspondent in Denmark (B Denmark P&I), will become a full branch office and be renamed TR(B) Denmark.
