Alfa Laval will be a technology partner in the joint project initiated by the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD), Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) and Stena Bulk to investigate the on-board capture, storage and off-loading of carbon dioxide (CO2).

Leading tanker shipping company Stena Bulk announced that it is launching a two-year, three phase project aimed at demonstrating shipboard carbon capture, together with the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation (GCMD) and the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI).

Approval in Principle (AIP) was given by the international classification society Korean Register (KR) for the design of a new ammonia-fuel ready vessel on 5 September.

The recent signing of a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement, in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), has formalized the alliance between Ecochlor, Inc. CCS is the process of capturing and storing CO2 before it is released into the atmosphere.

The Methanol Institute has welcomed comments made by the chairmen of China Merchants Energy Shipping and COSCO Shipping Bulk, that the two companies will focus on Methanol marine fuel as their primary area of research in the future.

GoodFuels announced that it has successfully supplied sustainable marine biofuel to NYK’s bulk carrier MV Frontier Explorer, in the first such delivery to a major maritime client since the company opened its Singapore office. 

Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering Holdings Berhad (MHB) has signed a strategic agreement with Bureau Veritas (BV) Solutions Marine & Offshore (M&O) to support industry-wide efforts to progress shipping’s decarbonisation.
