DNV hosted a highly anticipated research and development (R&D)  Forum, inviting stakeholders from the Greek shipping community to share and learn about the latest innovation projects. The speakers focused on zero-carbon fuels, digital twins, vessel automation and autonomy, electrification, and onboard carbon capture and storage (CCS).

Classification society DNV awarded Knutsen NYK Carbon Carriers (KNCC) with a General Approval for Ship Application (GASA) certificate for their LCO2-EP tank system for the transportation of liquefied CO2 (LCO2). Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen, DNV Maritime CEO, presented the GASA to Svein Steimler, Chair of KNCC.

Lloyd’s Register has awarded Approval in Principle (AiP) to Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for its new Onboard Guidance System, which is designed to prevent excessive container roll at sea for containerships.

RINA, the Inspection, Certification and Engineering consultancy multinational, has announced the acquisition of the entire share capital of Patrick Engineering Ltd., the Chicago-based engineering consultancy company active in Infrastructure, Transport and Renewable Energy.

Leading Classification Society ClassNK released amendments to its Rules and Guidance for the Survey and Construction of Steel Ships dated 27 December 2022.

Dr George Dimopoulos, Head of DNV Maritime’s R&D and Advisory Unit, DNV Maritime, will join the NTUA Faculty of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.
