Despina Panayiotou Theodosiou, CEO of TOTOTHEO Maritime received the prestigious “Woman of the Decade in Innovation and Leadership” Award
at the Annual Women Economic Forum (WEF) in New Delhi, India on 8th May. The main theme for WEF 17 was “Creating, Innovating, Understanding and Driving the Future.”
The award was presented to Despina by Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Government of India and Dr. Harbeen Arora, Global Chairperson of the Women Economic Forum.
Dr. Harbeen Arora said: “ I am delighted to welcome inspiring women business leaders like Despina Pan. Theodosiou from Cyprus. We have women from 100 countries joining along with Ministers and other stakeholders in society. Together we can create a more compassionate and connected world with mutual respect and potential unleashed for all”.
Despina Panayiotou Theodosiou is joint CEO of Tototheo Maritime and has been with the group since 2005. Since 2013, Despina is a member of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber and is chairing the Chamber’s Development and Promotion Committee since 2015. She also sits on the first Board of Governors of the Cyprus Maritime Academy and on the Board of Directors of the Cyprus- Germany Business Association. In 2011 Despina founded WISTA Cyprus – a member of WISTA International – and is the Association’s current President. In 2015 during the International AGM in Turkey, Despina was elected Secretary of WISTA International.
She won the titles of “Top Professional” and “Cyprus Business Woman of the Year 2015” at the 9th National Cyprus Business Woman of the Year Awards 2015. She also won the award of “Woman of the Decade in Innovation and Leadership: at the global Women Economic Forum in May 2017. She holds a bachelor degree in Economics from the National and Capodistrian University of Athens, an Executive MBA in Shipping and Logistics from the Copenhagen Business School and a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Strategy at the University of Oxford – Said Business School.
