It is with regret that we announce the retirement of Anastasios Angelopoulos as of the end of December 2017. He started out as a senior marine surveyor and worked his way up into the Marine & Offshore Department, eventually assuming the role of Marine Chief Executive for Greece and Cyprus. He worked for Bureau Veritas at the Piraeus office for 24 years. Prior to joining Bureau Veritas, Anastasios Angelopoulos had a great passage from shipping magnate’s Lukas Hadjioannou, Troodos Shipping and Elefsis Shipyards.
His career of over 40 years in the marine field is recognized for unconditional dedication, grace, and effectiveness. As he used to say “ships do not have weekends or holidays”. He was always there. It is difficult if not impossible to sum up his achievements over all his years of dedicated service. He is a major contributor to the meteoric increase of the Bureau Veritas-classed fleet over the last decade, being a true inspiration for all of us. His contributions are integral to our success and continuity.
He will be deeply missed but we can only feel happy for him after many years of service. His accomplishments, hard work, commitment to our clients on a 24/7 basis and dedication will always be there to remind how important he was. On behalf of everyone at Bureau Veritas, please join us to wish him the best of luck and health for him and his family for the years to come.
