The Grimaldi Group confirms also this year its presence at Transport Logistic, the most important fair in the world for logistics, mobility, IT and supply chain management operators, taking place in Munich from 4th to 7th June.
The Neapolitan Group, supplier of integrated logistics services based on maritime transport and European leader in the Motorways of the Sea, will present in its stand (Halle B3.318) the Grimaldi Lines services and those of its sister companies Atlantic Container Line, Minoan Lines and Finnlines. The Group’s exhibiting space also hosts the subsidiary Unikai, a multipurpose port operator located in Hamburg, as well as ALIS, the Logistics Association of Sustainable Intermodality.
The Group will illustrate to the main supply chain operators the wide portfolio of maritime connections operated between Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, West Africa, North and South America, served by a modern fleet of over 120 ro/ro vessels, PCTCs (Pure Car & Truck Carriers), cruise ferries and fast ferries, with an average age of only 10 years. Emphasis will also be given to the vast network of over 20 port terminals, with a total surface area of over 6.2 million m2, located all over the world for the handling and storage of rolling freight, containers and general cargo.
Notably, the Group will present the Cruise Roma and Cruise Barcelona lengthening program, under completion at the Fincantieri shipyard in Palermo, which will allow the two cruise ferries currently deployed on the Civitavecchia-Porto Torres-Barcelona route to increase their loading capacity for rolling freight and passengers, to improve the comfort on-board and to be even more environmentally friendly. In fact, the two flagships of the Grimaldi Lines fleet will be equipped with scrubbers and mega lithium batteries allowing them to reach the Group’s target of "Zero emission in Port".
Finally, emphasis will be given to the 12 new hybrid ro/ro units of the “G5GG” (Grimaldi 5th Green Generation) series, currently under construction, whose delivery is scheduled in the biennium 2020-2022. With a loading capacity of 517 semi-trailers each, these revolutionary units will be equipped with scrubbers to reduce sulphur emissions and will consume electricity while in port, thanks to the installation of mega lithium batteries on board.
