Nafsgreen team visited yesterday ABS Athens offices after a warm invitation to join Dr Chris Leontopoulos for a tour of the new ABS Global Ship Systems Center.
The ABS Global Ship Systems Center brings together ABS specialists in Gas, Operational and Environmental Issues, Cyber Safety, Engines, Control & Automation, Shafting, Engineering and Surveys to provide clients with enhanced access to project, topic and research resources.
By bringing this activity closer to clients, ABS aims to improve collaboration in research and project development and to enhance its Rules and Guidance, ensuring these are less disruptive to operations, while never compromising safety or environmental protection.
The centre is key to the ABS vision of leading class into the future using data and digitalization, employing new approaches to class survey and adopting technologies that can make a difference to our clients’ day to day operations.
To support this, ABS has created the first ever Technical Committee for a specific country area – the new ABS Hellenic Technical Committee – to guide on current issues and stay ahead of future needs.
