The Maritime Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus in Athens, organized on Thursday, November 18, 2021 in Athens an event in the context of continuous information and consultation with the shipping community.
The participants had the opportunity to learn about the long-term strategy of the Cyprus Shipping S.E.A. Change 2030, while discussing the proposals submitted by the European Commission for the decarbonization of shipping, which are part of the general package of proposals FIT 55 in order to achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
Recognizing that the shipping sector operates in an ever-changing environment with several challenges, the Shipping Deputy Ministry has formulated an innovative and long-term plan, aiming to make Cypriot shipping even more flexible and competitive but above all resilient.
In the context of the extroversion promoted by the Shipping Deputy Ministry, systematic consultation with the shipping industry is a priority, so as to enable the recording and analysis of the challenges faced by shipping worldwide.
