If you have one or more certificates that will expire on 31 December 2016, they must be replaced with so-called 2010 certificates already now.
For a period of time, the implementation of the Manila amendments to the STCW Convention has made it impossible to issue certificates with a date of expiry after 31 December 2016. Therefore, extremely many certificates of competency and certificates of recognition need to be replaced before the turn of the year – and this creates increased activity.
Help us get there in time
If you want to be certain that your certificates are replaced before their expiry, you should get started already now. All seafarers whose certificates expire on 31 December 2016 have received a message in their so-called e-Boks (the Danish system for receipt of digital mail from the authorities and others) with guidelines on how to renew the certificates.
The new certificates will have a period of validity of 5 years from the date of issue and a fee of DKK 500 will be requested for each certificate.
