2016 Tanker Structure Co-operative Forum - papers available

The 7th meeting of the Tanker Structure Co-operative Forum (TSCF) was held in Busan, Korea on 26 – 27 October 2016.

The conference brought together representatives from shipyards, tanker operators, oil majors and classification societies to discuss a range of technical topics including; Common Structural Rules (CSR) for bulk carriers and oil tankers, CSR in-service experience, polar design and operational experience, material and welding, innovative design and coating and corrosion control.

Sixteen papers were presented at the Forum by the major shipyards in China, Japan and Korea and the respective classification societies from each region. These papers are now available for download from the TSCF website; http://www.tscforum.org/news/ShipbuildersMeetings.aspx

The TSCF is an informal technical body which studies problem areas associated with tanker structures and then publishes its findings in information papers or through direct meetings with major shipbuilders.

The organisation works to advance maritime safety through improvements in the design and maintenance of tanker structures. It was set up in 1983 and its membership comprises 25 companies who are independent tanker operators, oil majors and classification societies.
