At a full house at the Yacht Club of Greece, Capital Link’s President, Mr. Nicolas Bornozis
received the “1st Propeller Club of Piraeus Members Award” during the first Members’ Day Meeting for 2016 on Thursday, February 18th, 2016.
This award recognizes Mr. Bornozis’ contribution, at the helm of Capital Link, in strengthening the bilateral relations between Greece and the United States of America in the Maritime Field and for his efforts to raise the profile of shipping in the investment community and to a wider audience around the world.
Mr. George Xiradakis, President of the International Propeller Club, Port of Piraeus stated: “Nicolas has played a pivotal role educating investors about the maritime sector and helping shipping companies navigate through Wall Street. For over a decade now shipping companies, Greek and non-Greek, have benefited from Nicolas’ efforts to build a platform that reaches out to a large and diversified investor audience in the United States and beyond. Shipping is a capital intensive business and the changing landscape in global finance is having a transformational effect on shipping. It has been changing from a private family owned business to a more open corporate structure with a diversified shareholder base. The US markets have become the preferred capital raising destination for shipping companies from all over the world and Nicolas has played a major role bringing together the US and the Greek shipping community.”
Accepting the Award Nicolas Bornozis mentioned: “We are humbled and proud to receive this prestigious Award, which further recognizes and validates our efforts and commitment to the industry and to our clients. Capital Link is privileged to have become the “go-to” destination for information and insight on shipping and the maritime sector, serving as an effective link between public and private sector companies, the investment and financial community, and trade and financial media. While we maintain our focus on the individual needs and objectives of each client, we also look to the industry as a whole as we seek to raise awareness to a wider audience about shipping and the maritime sector highlighting their vital and enduring role in the global economy and trade. Given the challenging market conditions at present, we believe that our mission and role is even more significant. This Award motivates us to continue and reinforce our efforts.”
Two days before, Capital Link held in Athens with great success its 7th Annual Greek Shipping Forum with record attendance. This forum, recognized as a premiere maritime event in Athens, brings to Athens senior executives and experts from Wall Street, law firms, commercial and investment banks and global industry participants to interact with the Greek Shipping Community.
